Welcome to Okanagan-now.com - your source for travel and tourism information about the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, including Kelowna, Penticton, Vernon, Summerland, Osoyoos and other areas in the valley.
Millions of years ago, massive glacial ice floes carved out valleys and vistas, creating an ideal place for orchards, vineyards, farms and ranches to live. This is the Okanagan Valley. A land of concentration and lush abundance. Wild river and tranquil lakes. Sheer-walled canyons and wide open planes. Mountain peaks and rolling grasslands. A country where opposites definitely attract.
Wine Country
In a region that gets more sunshine than any other place in BC, you naturally get more good things. Like orchards, filled with juicy peaches, nectarines, plums, apples and berries. And lush vineyards overflowing with grapes. Between Salmon Arm and Osoyoos, you can tour international award-winning wineries. Wine festivals in spring, summer, fall and even winter feature everything from grape stomping to gourmet dining.
Lake Country
Warm water lakes surrounded by white sand beaches make the Okanagan a resort paradise. Water ski, jet ski or just float on an inner-tube. Stay at one of the many resorts, dotting the lakes. Or rent a house boat an live on the lake.
18-Hole Country
There are over 40 18-hole golf courses here. And in some pretty fantastic settings. In the midst of orchard. At the base of a ski mountain. On a ridge of a canyon. Some of Canada's best are here. Just to name a few: Predator Ridge near Vernon, Gallagher's Canyon and the Okanagan Golf Club in Kelowna, Fairview Mountain in Oliver, the Osoyoos Golf Club, the Salmon Arm Golf Club and River Shore and The Dunes in Kamloops.
